The Art of Self-Acceptance

The hardest lesson I have ever had to learn - and am still learning -is self acceptance. I don't think that self acceptance has a key, I think it is more of a continuation. It seems like one of those things that you are constantly working on and discovering.
One thing I do know, self acceptance is far more reliable than seeking acceptance from others. Think about a time when someone judged you, or didn’t agree with you. If you are completely reliant on others for your happiness, that type of situation would leave you feeling worthless, denied, or maybe even rejected. A fear of rejection is holding you back, and it doesn’t allow you to be your true self.
The greatest power you have in the world is the fact that no one is you. No one has the same ideas, thoughts, and qualities as YOU. I believe that self acceptance is choosing to accept yourself exactly as you are. NOT once you lose weight, gain muscle, get a raise, put makeup on, buy expensive clothes. I think that it is an everyday habit, being kind to yourself doesn’t always come easy. It's accepting yourself on the days you don’t feel so great, the days where it is really freaking hard.
I also believe that the more you judge yourself, the more you will judge others. The same voice that criticizes you, is also the same that gossips and talks bad about others. Why would you spend your time and energy on such negative topics?
I have a challenge for you:
Every time you think bad about yourself, replace that thought with three positive ones.
Every time you think/talk bad about others, ask yourself why, try to change the narrative.
